About Us
Meet the Founder
Misses Yeweinshet Bezu, the founder of Finote Rehabilitation for Women with Disabilities Association, grew up in the town of Arsi. As a child, she tragically lost her sight after being struck by a stick by their housemaid, which led to the eventual loss of both her eyes. Growing up blind in a small town in Ethiopia was a difficult challenge, especially when it came to accessing education. Despite these obstacles, she persevered and completed her schooling.
Determined to improve the lives of others facing similar struggles, Misses Yeweinshet founded the organization to empower women with disabilities and ensure that no child would suffer as she did in trying to access education. She continues to serve as the executive manager of Finote, which is transforming the lives of many women with disabilities.
