We empower women and girls with disabilities by providing them with the tools, training, and opportunities they need to succeed.. Through comprehensive programs that include life skills training, education, and entrepreneurship support, Finote strives to create an inclusive society where no woman or girl with disabilities is left behind..
Misses Yeweinshet Bezu, the founder of Finote Rehabilitation for Women with Disabilities Association, grew up in the town of Arsi. As a child, she tragically lost her sight after being struck by a stick by their housemaid, which led to the eventual loss of both her eyes. Growing up blind in a small town in Ethiopia was a difficult challenge, especially when it came to accessing education. Despite these obstacles, she persevered and completed her schooling.
Determined to improve the lives of others facing similar struggles, Misses Yeweinshet founded the organization to empower women with disabilities and ensure that no child would suffer as she did in trying to access education. She continues to serve as the executive manager of Finote, which is transforming the lives of many women with disabilities.
"Ensuring that no child suffers trying to access foundational life tools and specialized care."

Finote is dedicated to providing essential services and support for blind girls and children with visual impairments in Ethiopia. One of our ongoing projects is the Shelter Service for Blind Girls, which is generously funded by the Stirling Foundation. This shelter provides a safe and nurturing environment for blind girls, including those who are orphans or come from very poor families. In addition to food, housing, clothing, and education, the shelter offers basic Braille skills training, life skills development, and support to help these girls gain independence and thrive in society.
Furthermore, Finote supports blind children living with their parents by providing financial assistance to help cover their daily needs, education, and specialized care. This support ensures that these children, despite their challenges, can live with dignity and access the resources they need to succeed.
